Waiting for summer

Rudbecksgatan in Malmö.
Rudbecksgatan in Malmö.

The street and sky scene this week is from Rudbecksgatan in Limhamn and from the meeting hole in the ground by Öresundsgården in Limhamn. The depression in the ground were used for meetings and I seem to remember It was religious meetings there.

The weather is still chilly with rainy days and a little sun now and then.

More pictures on Our World Tuesday and on Skywatch.

The depression in the ground by Öresundsgården was made digging for chalk in the ground. It was used for meetings and called Kyrkogrottan which translates as the Church Cave.

    1. Thank you! I think this was in the beginning of the concrete industry in Limhamn. There are more depressions like this in the landscape and they are usually filled with water. The buildings nearby are built in the 1970 behind a street that has older houses dating from the old fishing village, Nearby is the big quarry where the concrete for Jesus the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro was quarried. They prevent the Quarry from being filled with water by pumping it out. So that this small depression isn´t filled with water is a little mysterious. It can be that it is a bit higher than the surrounding land and that there is a slope leading to the beach beyond it. I wish you a good day!
