Lights in darkness

It is dark when I step out of the door in the morning in Borås.

It is dark when I go out in the morning and it is dark when I go home in the afternoon so my pictures are dark. Last week I saw that the accumulator tank was lit in the colors of the French flag on monday morning to honor the victims in Paris. It has been a grey week  with rain on and off and on Friday I went to Malmö for the first time after the police have started the new border control. I saw the police on the platform where the trains from Denmark stops before moving on for Triangeln and Malmö Central. On my way back to Borås I went to Malmö Central as I got a text from the railway operator that the trains could be delayed due to the new border controls. So I went to Malmö central and the train was delayed by circa a quarter of an hour, and of course was delayed to Ängelholm where one currently changes to bus as the railway line is going to be connected to the tunnel under the ridge between Skåne and Halland. The tunnel was supposed to be ready in 1997 but this wasn´t going to happen. One reason was that the ridge contained a lot of fractured stone and not solid rock, another was that the sealant used in the building of the tunnel poisoned the wells on the ridge. Well, it is finished at last and will start traffic on the 13th of December this year. Until then one has to change to bus in Ängelholm and back to train in Laholm. Due to the delay I was nervous that the train I change to in Varberg would be gone when I arrived there but that train operator was kind enough to wait five minutes for me and the other travellers also due for that train. That said I was in Borås in time to look at the Swedish thiller “Bron” – “the Bridge” that takes place in Malmö and Copenhagen. It is a bit to scary in my mind but the environment is full of recognition as it is places I know and sometimes quite close to us.

While it was dry and cold in Borås during the weekend the snow was falling heavily in Malmö. It was very windy too. I was very happy to be indoors. During the weekend Borås lit their Christmas tree and I took a picture of that on my way home today.

First snow this winter was severe and a bit early in Malmö. It caused a lot of trouble on the roads in Denmark and southern Sweden.

Better safe than sorry. I went to Malmö central instead to Hyllie station to be sure on my train and the connections.

Changing from train to bus and than back to bus again at Ängelholm and Laholm due to work on the railway to connect the tunnel under Hallandsåsen to the railway.

Back in Borås the ground is bare but it is below the freezing point and there are frost on the trees, on the cars, on the ground and on the roofs.

While I was away the big Christmas tree on the big central square in Borås was lit.
