Thunder and rain

Big poppies don´t fare well in pouring rain.

The days are still warm with temperatures up to 29 degrees Celsius. In the beginning of the week there were strong winds that abated when the rain started pouring down with lightning to follow.  Right now the sun is burning hot.

Yesterday saw us on a short daytrip to Copenhagen to look at the giant corpse flower – Amorphophallus titanum – at Botanisk Have. It was said to smell badly but there was only a faint smell if you bowed forward to smell at it.

The pictures comes from my garden in Malmö in Sweden and from Botanisk Have – the botanical gardens – in Copenhagen in Denmark. I share this post with Our World Tuesday and Skywatch Friday and Today´s Flower.

  1. An amazing series of flowers. I have heard of the Corpse Flower but have never seen one. Your poppy is a gorgeous macro and I have enjoyed every photo. Thank you so much for sharing with Today’s Flowers, and I wish you a very happy day 🙂
